Seeking New Venue for 21st Century Vaudeville Show in Hollywood

Posted on Apr 22nd, 2006 by Veronique Chevalier : Chanteuse with A Social Conscience Veronique Chevalier
It with mixed emotions that I hereby announce that May 20th will be the final installment of the current incarnation of Veronique's Red Velvet Variety Show (VRVVS). I have just received news that our gem of a venue, the Empire Amusement Hall, is undergoing some internal reorganization and these changes will, alas affect the future presentation of our show.

It is not our place to publically discuss the business of the Hall, as we were only renting the space and we have no say in the setting of policy of that fine establishment. Suffice it to say that our chapter at those premises will soon end, and after May 20th, we will present our live show there no longer.

We wish the Right Reverend Tommy Gunn and Associates the best of  luck in their new ventures, and it is urged that you to continue to support their efforts, for you will not meet many who exceed their excellent reputation and honorable intentions. Our tenure at the Hall has been a most agreeable experience, and will be treasured always.

As I turn my attentions back to VRVVS, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the friends and fans who supported my efforts at producing at quality live variety entertainment. My theory that I was not the only one hungry for such programming was more-than borne out.

I have had the privilege of meeting and working with some exquisite talents, and look forward to staying in touch with all of our show alumni; those of you who had been booked for what would have been upcoming shows, as well as those of you who had desired to be booked..

I am not at liberty to disclose what is to follow with regard the VRVVS. However, for now, suffice it to say that, although we will no longer be presenting the live version on a regular basis at the Empire Amusement Hall, this by no means implies that we are finished.

We definitely have some irons in the fire, as far as possible television programming, as well as a touring company. Rest assured, Dear Friends, that you will be kept current as things develop.

In the meantime, if you know of any theatres in the Hollywood area that might be interested in acquiring our show as part of their offerings, I would be most appreciative of any leads. I am already booked through August, so I'd hate not to be able to continue for lack of a venue, for certainly the calibre of talent that I've been priviledged to present more-than merits continuation of the show.

So, please, come one, come all, to our May 20th Grand Finale of the live monthly version of VRVVS, at the Empire Amusement Hall, entitled "Mother May Eye" and help us put the old show to bed, and to ring in the future birth of the new, improved version of the VRVVS that is yet-to-be!

We are looking forward to the next step- Onward and Upward!
